At dawn

The petals sway gently 

The sparrows sing 

Al amanecer

Bio: Chen Yue Zhao is a young poet from New Zealand. She has received the Excellent Prize in the 2nd Cangjie Cup Global Chinese Literature Competition and the Poetry Prize of “Il Parnaso – Premio Angelo La Vecchia”, Grand Jury Prize in “II Meleto Di Guido Gozzano” poetry competition in 2025. She was appointed as NZ poetry ambassador for the II Meleto Di Guido Gozzano” poetry prize in the year 2024. She is the youngest NZ poet to have gained the Naji Naaman Literary Prize in 2025(Lebanon). Her works have been published in China, Hong Kong, Italy, and New Zealand.
